Protesting the premiere of "The Last Airbender"

Attention all MANAA and Racebending supporters, Asian American community organizers, and thousands of disgruntled fans of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender! A boycott/protest is being planned for the opening night of the movie, Thursday July 1st. More volunteers are needed to hold the protest in Los Angeles.

MANAA's protest last year against the movie "The Goods" resulted in media coverage and helped lead to an in-person meeting with the head of Paramount. Protests against the The Last Airbender have already resulted in media coverage, such as:

It's been getting some bad reviews, but sadly, as anonymous touches upon, it'll probably be a box office hit. Most audiences do not care about the plight of Asian Americans, all they care about is extensive CGI graphics and brain dead scripts.

M. Night is pretty much a joke anyways. I've despised him ever since his pathetic "Lady in the Water" where he had the underrated Cindy Cheung speak in exaggerated 'fobbish' accent and the stereotypical "foreign" mother.

The movie is currently ripped apart by critics and viewers alike with merciless scorn. I haven't see such a rampant bad word of mouth for a blockbuster for ages. The only money it will make is either from people who haven't read any review or those who can't believe how bad the movie is and want to see the trainwreck for themselves.

Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck for the protest! :D

Unfortunately I believe the studios greenlighted part 2 in the series (original plan was for 3). Domestic box office gross stands around 128 million, with international grosses the total is around 280 million. While that's not exactly impressive and a humongous box office take, it's enough to qualify as a modest 'hit,' and worst of all seems to further justify M. Night's out of control ego and stupidity.
